He completed his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine in 1986 and his residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins University in 1989. He also completed a gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA in 1991. Dr. Mertz is recognized as the most experienced endoscopic ultrasonographer in Tennessee, with a caseload exceeding 14,000 procedures and over 5,000 fine-needle biopsies. Doctor Inglis is a wonderful Dr. & human being. He is professional and listens carefully to your concerns. He takes the time so to evaluate and solve your problems. His staff is always smiling and welcoming. Nurse Naomi B. Is amazing. She stopped what she was working on and took time to help me with a problem with a medical company by calling them immediately. I cannot say enough about Doctor Inglis & the great office personnel. Thank You.

Dr. Inglis, was a wonderful doctor. I felt like he cared about me and my care. He spoke to me like a person and not just another patient. I would definitely recommend him to any and every one. With him doing my procedure I was and would be very comfortable.

Dr. Inglis is a very nice doctor... He seems to really care about his patient... He's is well respected...While I was in for my procedure the nurses spoke highly of him....

This is a long overdue review. On February 9 I had a consult with Dr. Mertz for a follow-up colonoscopy. I had been sick with several unrelated issues in the month prior to that appointment. Dr. Mertz’s PA, Susan Matthews recognized the seriousness of my issues ,spoke to Dr. Mertz and two weeks later I underwent a scope that revealed lymphoma. I can not say enough about Susan’s compassion that day. She was my guardian angel! I would highly recommend Dr.Mertz for any gastrointestinal issues.I could not have been more pleased.

Dr Mertz is a great physician. I’ve struggled with GI issues my entire life. After moving to Nashville from NYC, I was concerned my level of care would decrease. I’m fortunate to say that’s not the case. He has a great bedside manner and takes the time to educate you on your situation. I highly recommend Dr Mertz.

Dr Mertz was very knowledgeable and professional. He diagnosed a on going painful condition that had been diagnosed incorrectly in the past. I'm so happy I went to him and would highly recommend him.

Dr. Stein found me in the hospital in the middle of a Crohn’s flare and has been beyond amazing with his care for me! In his office he took the time to call my primary doctor on the spot as well as helping me with insurance issues to get me the correct treatment. I was there a long time but that’s because he was going to bat for me while I was there. Could NOT recommend him more highly!.

Dr. Stein is great! He is very thorough. He takes the time to listen to his patients, and communicates his plans/expectations in a very clear and concise manner. What is most impressive to me is that he makes phone calls to deliver the results of all procedures regardless of the outcome.

Dr. Stein is a kind, professional. He readily explains medical issues in understandable terms and includes me in decision making. I highly recommend him.
