LA GARE RESTAURANT REVIEWS
Cosy and welcoming restaurant. The staff were very attentive and polite. The food was fantastic and served at an efficient pace. The entrees include soup and salad. It’s great for a date night or more formal dinner. Street parking but also walkable from the hotels downtown.
Had a fantastic 60th birthday dinner last night. Everything was perfect. Best rack of lamb I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Had a beautiful bottle of wine with dinner that I regret not writing down the name of. Service was above and beyond.
The best French restaurant in North California and the world's best service. I would definitely go again.

WALTER HANSEL WINE & BISTRO REVIEWS
The food is always amazing here, and the service is always friendly, attentive and quick. We love coming here for an intimate dinner, often with a larger party size (over 5) and the service never misses a beat. Although we like the pre-fixe menu, we appreciate the specials, such as the lamb. If you get lucky and they have it, order it (their risotto with mushrooms is amazing as well)! I was impressed by the Walter Hansel wines, we ordered a Sauvignon Blanc that was a perfect refresher with our appetizers. For dessert, I highly recommend the crisps with some type of gelato (I assume they’re seasonal). Our last visit was a hot strawberry crisp with a smooth cold vanilla bean gelato. Absolutely perfect!
This is a great date spot with small plates to share and cozy atmosphere. Although we didn't drink from the wine list, they offer a complimentary porch at the end of your meal. It was delicious. The picture was a meringue cloud with so many fabulous flavors and textures for dessert.
This place was out of the way but how could you say no to all these wonderful ratings! The people were not wrong! The food was outstanding. The place and people were unassuming and delightful. Thank you for the experience.

THE FIG CAFE REVIEWS
Wonderful place. We tried all the specials. Bean soup (delicious). Pot roast (so tender). Beignets (straight from New Orleans). I really appreciated the portions, and that they were willing to split the entrées between me and my partner without any hassle. The wine list is also above reproach. Great variety of Sonoma county and external wines. Looking at you Bonny Doon from Aptos. When we come back to Glen Ellen, this will be on the list to visit again.
Dinner on our second night in Sonoma was in the charming town of Glen Ellen, just south of Santa Rosa. Most of us chose the Prix Fixe dinner at "the fig cafe & winebar" featuring Duck Confit with one outlier having the pasta with wild boar. All paired with delicious Pinot Noirs from Niagara and California that we brought with us since the have very reasonable corkage. Another night to be remembered!
Had a wonderful dinner! Server was great. Food was well presented and tasty.
