MOD GEN is a modern take on the classic general store that has been serving the community for 20 years. The shop is located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward. As a contemporary general store, they are stocking stylish homeware and a large houseplant selection. Gardening and garden design was the passion that first launched them in 2001, but they quickly learned that their love of great design and a thirst for creative living had fueled an evolution into something more than a garden store. They decided a contemporary twist to the classic general store seemed a perfect way, to sum up, the wide variety of products they now carry. They aim to provide great products and creative ideas to inspire your own signature style. They are constantly looking for locally produced items to balance their internationally produced goods. Their customers support not only the store, but a staff of four full-time employees (two of which are also artists) and various community programs.
