Turkey Mountain is an essential landmark on Tulsa’s riverfront. It is a public park encompassing hundreds of rugged, wooded acres. The forest and mountain are a great example of a cross timber area representing the Great Plains and the Ozark Plateau transition. Turkey Mountain is used for most recreation purposes such as hiking, walking, and running, with other mountain biking and horseback riding. The recent survey has given that it is a regional and national attraction with documented evidence. The wilderness area has two large lakes and several miles of winding dirt trails. Turkey Mountain is purposefully held in a wilderness state to provide a challenging recreational experience. The miles of mostly flat trails and manicured park areas along the riverfront provide a demanding recreational experience.

TURKEY MOUNTAIN URBAN WILDERNESS AREA REVIEWS
Turkey Mountain's haunted trail was sooooo fun! It was spooky enough for the parents, yet not too scary for the kids. Overall, it was a great place to take the whole family for a haunted treat the weekend before Halloween.!
Had a great time. Beautiful with lots of trails running throughout. They even have an app for your phone that logs trail time, distance, elevation, and navigation!!
Great place to hike, lots of trails and dogs are allowed on a leash.

OXLEY NATURE CENTER REVIEWS
It's a great place to go and forget you're in a large town. It has several great trails, tons of wildlife and a nice size lake to walk around. After you're done, it's close to the Airport, Zoo, and right up the road is the By-pass so you can quickly get to downtown Tulsa. I love going out here and just getting lost for a few hours.
Oxley had numerous trails that connect and can be walked to do short under a mile walks, to as long of hikes as a person would want. Trails are wide enough in some spots to support groups, and also typically wide enough to allow bikes to pass with ease. Depending on the trail of choice, you are likely to pass multiple ponds/lakes and can stroll the trail by the river!
Great place to hike by yourself or with a family. Trails are great and plenty of different species to encounter on your hike!
