Back Bay is such a stunning, natural landscape that is a true gem in Virginia Beach! As a professional photographer, my clients come to me for the timeless photos I capture of families and couples and many clients request my favorite location for portraits, which is the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge beach. The beach and paths are so well maintained and make for a perfect backdrop for not only photos, but also for adventures, running, biking and hiking for families all year round.
Beautiful park. Plenty of trails. Only a couple people on the beach at golden hour! No pets allowed and no swimming so keep that in mind before you go. They have well maintained porti potties and plenty of parking (they have facilities too but we went at 6 so they were closed). It's a very peaceful place to get away and explore the most beautiful area in Hampton Roads!
The forest ranger was very friendly and knowledgeable. The trails are all well maintained and nice. It's a beautiful area.
