SPRINGFIELD CONSERVATION NATURE CENTER REVIEWS
This is a fantastic spot. There is something for everyone. I saw humans from 1 to 80 enjoying the nature center and trails. So many interactive exhibits for kids and the trails are very accessible. Picnic areas available though no food is provided on site. Beautiful and well kept trails with fantastic trees, flowers, and wildlife. I could honestly spend the day there and the best part…it’s free of charge. Yep-#free. Helpful and friendly staff are there to guide you and answer questions. Truly a special place.
Excellent walking trails, kept up great. It's a good place to run or to take a stroll it's shaded most of the trails. Some open Trails for the Prairie field. Time your hike correctly and you will see lots of wildlife, deer, snakes, Chipmunks, Hawks, lots of squirrels and birds.
Beautiful trails. I spent 6 weeks in Springfield for school and came here to walk almost every day. The trails are well maintained. I could easily walk 3 or 4 miles without feeling like I was walking in circles. I always felt safe walking alone. Great place to take photos.

VALLEY WATER MILL PARK REVIEWS
Our family lives not too far from here and it's been a great place for us to hike around the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery and nature. The trail goes around the entire lake and we can usually hike it in an hour or so depending on how many times we stop and look at stuff. The trail is paved on the side of the lake by the parking lot but it is much more rugged on the other side of the lake. In warm months we like to wear shoes that can get wet because there are a few good places along the trail to stop and wade in the water. If it's during the rainy season, plan on getting your feet wet and muddy on the hike.
Plenty of room here to spread out and get away from the crowds. There's some sidewalk for all ages, but most of the trails are uneven with endless rock and root tripping hazards, along with numerous elevation changes. Much of the trail is shaded and there are several benches along the way. There are are also restrooms available.
Very nice spot for a walk. Enough up and down to get the heart pumping a bit. Some interesting local history and a real, easily visible spring. Perhaps 1.5-2.0 miles depending on which side trails you take. 30-45 minutes for once around the lake.
