SITAR FLAVORS OF INDIA REVIEWS
I had driven by Sitar for about 7 months now and finally decided to give it a try on a rainy day. I am an avid Indian food lover so whenever there is an opportunity to add a new Indian restaurant to my rotation, I take the chance. When we stepped in there were no patrons inside but there were quite a lot of doordash orders being picked up - glad they are doing well on that front. We sat down and ordered lamb samosa, regular naan, chicken vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, a masala chai, and a thandai. The food exceeded my expectations and was one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in CT. The vindaloo was perfectly hot and seasoned, the lamb rogan josh packed all the seasoning in there that I craved. It overall was great.
The last time I came to Sitar was 6 years ago in college and since then it’s gotten a lovely renovation. The interior is elegant and clean, and the staff are super welcoming and attentive. I loved the vegetable parkora and paneer pakora as well as the mango lassi which was both tangy and sweet! The malai kofta is spiced well but also has a creamy buttery finish, which pairs well with the chilli cheese naan. Overall, an excellent spot for classic Indian fare in a setting that’s great for a meal when you have guests in town but also for a casual weekday meal too.
I dined at this restaurant for the first time with a friend, and we both split the family meal of Alu Gobi and basmati rice, along with other additions. This meal was flavorful, comforting, and the perfect portion and cap to our day. We raved about the restaurant on the way home and discussed what we would try the next time we went. I am rarely in New Haven, but I definitely intend on returning to try some more menu items.

SHERKAAN INDIAN STREET FOOD REVIEWS
My second visit to Sherkaan, and definitely not the last. I came here once and dined inside. This time we got a table outside. Service was superb, our server was patient, informative and funny. Recommending both drinks and dishes. The selection of food is mouthwatering. I wanted to try everything on the menu. There was 3 of us, so we ordered a few different dishes to share. I honestly can't remember all of the names, since it was a few weeks ago, but they were all delicious and flavorful. When I go back next time, and I will, I'll write the review right away, to go over each dish.
Sherkaan is 5 yrs old and their celebratory desi pizza menu was out of this world!!I tried the HAI HAI MIRCHI pizza with my staple cocktail choice:MUMBAI Manhattan!!! Amazing hand tossed pizza with indian spices and Manhattan with a twist!!! Word of advice to management at Sherkaan, : the pizza should be permanently added to the menu! Love it.
The minute one walks in the door, you know it’s going to be a great dining experience. The aromas of the food are so enticing. Everyone was friendly. The food was delicious. The cheese naan - I could just have this and be happy. This place is awesome.

HOUSE OF NAAN INDIAN KITCHEN AND BAR REVIEWS
I've always wanted to try authentic Indian and I'm very happy to say that this restaurant does not disappoint. I was greeted immediately by the owner who was very welcoming and kind. I was immediately seated, recommended a drink and then i grabbed a plate to check out the buffet. The all you can buffet gives you a chance to sample the many and delicious offerings. The Naan bread was fresh and hot, the butter chicken was everything I hoped it would be, very flavorful, tender and moist. I think I think I also tried a lamb curry, which was superb. Perfectly tender lamb with a nice kick of spice but nothing overpowering which was nice. I'm happy that I happened upon this location and will return again soon.
We had always heard that House of Naan had some of the best Indian food in New Haven, and now that we’ve had the chance to try it for ourselves, we definitely have to agree! It’s definitely in the top 5 Indian restaurants we’ve tried in the state as well. No frills, with all of the classics you could want on the menu, prepared authentically and tasting delicious. I really loved the naan basket especially! All of the food came out quickly and was just so good. I would absolutely come back again the next time I’m craving Indian food.
I came here to try the cuisine while I was out. I ordered a couple of appetizers to try. They were amazing and came out hot and quick. The accompanied sauces really elevated the flavor profile for me and were delicious. The staff were courteous and welcoming. The young woman who's name was Ariel had a large smile and a great presentation. I will definitely try to come back again.
