Julia Barokov, LMFT

Julia is a dedicated marriage and family therapist who exemplifies balance, wellness, and self-care. She is easy to talk to – one has the sense that they can share anything with her. And though she creates a “safe space”, in which one feels comfortable expressing sorrow, grief, and anger, it is quite easy to laugh in Julia’s company. I am an artist, and I feel more at home in intentionally decorated places. Julia has excellent taste and takes care to make her office inviting and beautiful. Additionally, Julia works to make our community a safe and nurturing environment for young people and teens, by serving as clinical director of “A Home Within”, a mental health advocacy group for children in the foster care system.

Julia is one of the most sincerely compassionate people I know. She has a calming presence that encourages openness and she is remarkably non-judgmental. Julia has a genuine interest in finding a way to help others find peace through introspection and reflection. Her gentle yet persistent pursuit of helping people find their truth is a quality that shows her courage and the depth of devotion to her purpose.
