Karen was my midwife for my second birth and first homebirth. Karen and Justin were the most incredible birth team I could’ve asked for. She kept me calm and comfortable. All medical checks were from the comfort of my bed (and my floor when labor got intense). Justin was so helpful, fluttering in and out, doing all the cleanup, and other necessities. I would just see brief glimpses of him as he was off to his next task helping Karen. He helped my husband change bedsheets, helped with laundry and a plethora of other things I’m sure I missed while laboring. Karen knew my goal was a water birth and no tearing, after I suffered a third degree tear with my first. I made it to the water just in time! And she positioned me perfectly so I had no tearing! She stayed with me several hours after birth to monitor me. They were back the next day for baby checks and mama checks! Throughout my pregnancy and birth she was always calm and well educated. I never questioned her ability to take care of my medical needs. She is a professional through and through, although she became a friend along the way! She made my dreams of a homebirth possible. It was so much better than I imagined and I can’t wait for next time.

Karen and her team are amazing. I was a first time mom and Karen's wealth of knowledge made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole pregnancy and birth process - she gave me confidence that I was capable of a home birth. Each prenatal visit was thorough, unrushed, and went over a ton of information and preparation for a healthy pregnancy and birth (protein intake, water intake, exercise etc.) that you wouldn't get at a traditional OB's office. During the birth, the whole team made me feel extremely comfortable and empowered. Her apprentice, Michelle, and assistant, Justin, were excellent additional resources during labor, birth, and the golden hour(s) and I was able to successfully have my baby at home with no intervention. I'm so grateful to Karen and her team for helping us welcome baby into the world at home.

I had a wonderful home birth experience with Karen. The prenatal and postnatal care was truly exceptional. Karen is extremely knowledgeable and I felt so comfortable knowing she could guide me through the home birth of my dreams (2nd kiddo) while keeping me and baby safe and also honoring my wishes for very minimal interventions. My first birth was at a birth center and we ended up in a post-birth transfer that ended up being unnecessary. This experience was so much better, even though my birth center birth was still a good experience. 10/10 recommend using her for a home birth! I will absolutely use her in a subsequent pregnancy. Her pricing was absolutely worth it.
