Eliza is an excellent midwife!! We met Eliza and started prenatal care with her just into the third trimester. She has a welcoming demeanor and was personable from the very start. This was my first pregnancy, and I knew I wanted to experience my birth at home to ensure personal autonomy and comfortability that you can’t get at a hospital. As we prepared for labor and birth, Eliza helped guide us through our options. When we started seeing her for care, we knew there were some dates around our due date that she was going to be out of town. When the time came, she insured there were back up midwives available to attend our birth. She left us in good hands with another local midwife, Lora Hart, who was an excellent birth attendant. Eliza continued care for us postpartum. Overall throughout our entire time with Eliza, both prenatal and postpartum, any questions or issues that we had, she always had insight to educate us further. She’s a great resource for information.

My wife and I did a lot of research regarding home births, and for me, it wasn’t until I met Eliza did I decide fully that this was the path of care I was comfortable with for my family. She did not disappoint. From a dad’s perspective, she educated me, was patient as I came to grips with the process, and included me in decisions every step of the way. She encouraged my involvement at every level. As a result, we had one of the most peaceful birth experiences one could have. Eliza let momma and baby take their own pace and brought a calm to the whole experience. She balanced that with very rationale and measured situational awareness and decision making. She never let any situation get beyond her control and helped keep mom and baby safe continually. After the birth, she gave us more care in just 1 visit than our (pre-home-birth decision) OB ever did. As we needed referrals for pediatricians, consultants, etc Eliza had the connections to seamlessly set us up with continued care outside of the midwife’s duties.
