2026 Update: Charlotte Museum of History spans over an 8-acre wooded campus in fast-changing East Charlotte. The museum shares the Charlotte region’s history, connecting the past to current opportunities and issues. The museum expanded to cover all periods of Charlotte's history, from the history of music in the city to the experiences of soldiers during the 1st World War from Charlotte. The Charlotte Museum of History is home to the 1774 Alexander Rock House. The Museum is funded through private grants, donations, and program revenue. Their goal is to preserve more than 40 years of history through preservation and education.
