The museum expanded to cover all periods of Charlotte's history, from the history of music in the city to the experiences of soldiers during the 1st World War from Charlotte. The Charlotte Museum of History is home to the 1774 Alexander Rock House. The Museum is funded through private grants, donations, and program revenue. Their goal is to preserve more than 40 years of history through preservation and education. ”

SULLENBERGER AVIATION MUSEUM REVIEWS

An impressive aircraft museum. It features a wide selection of aircraft, from helicopters to fighter jets, and of course, the original A320 aircraft from the Hudson River. It has been meticulously restored and assembled over many years. There's a special tour that examines the heroic incident from every possible angle (the "Miracle on the Hudson" immersive tour) with lots of detailed commentary. However, the 10-minute film about the emergency landing, shown from the perspective of the aircraft, can also be viewed within the museum itself. There's also a separate hangar with historical aircraft such as the DC-3 and numerous military planes. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to enter these aircraft. There's even a kind of Microsoft Flight Simulator with a joystick where you can practice landings. All in all, a cool experience if you're passionate about airplanes and aviation!

If you are an aviation enthusiasts this is a must do for sure! I loved the expo, it’s well organized, lot of panels with information, couple of flight game simulators, to land a T33 jet (sitting in the real cockpit!) and a Cessna 150. Several military aircraft/jets and helis, light planes, the A320 miracle of the Hudson and the whole story coverage of that event. Also many information on aviation history, local aviation and CLT airport ops. I found it very informative and with good mix of interactive stations. The museum is very Kids friendly, plenty of cool stuffs for them too and even a dedicated workshop room for some hands on experience. The volunteers there are very well prepared and friendly to reply any question you might have. I totally recommend a visit!

Fantastic experience at the Sullenberger Aviation Museum! Our 4- and 8-year-olds had the best time exploring cockpits, trying simulators, and even earning their little pilot licenses. A perfect mix of play and learning. Highly recommend a visit!

NASCAR HALL OF FAME REVIEWS

The Nascar Hall of Fame truly is an amazing place to visit. I stopped by while I was in the Charlotte area for business and was very impressed. The museum tells and truly captures the history of Nascar. From the roots in bootleggers, to the early pioneers and founders of the organization, to where it is and what it represents today was quite a special journey to take part in. The museum has an immense collection of vehicles, memorabilia, equipment, interactive displays, a pit crew and racing simulation and so much more. I learned so much and gained a greater appreciation for the sport. This is a class act museum and highly recommended for visitors of all ages and for novices to lift long fans. If you don’t take something away from your visit, then you did something wrong. Do yourself and/or your family and favor and visit the Nascar Hall of Fame.

As a motorsport fan, this place is a must see. Absolutely fantastic and full of awesomeness. I had the tour and was given the pleasure of David - a man who knows pretty much everything about NASCAR's history. I cannot offer enough superlatives about him - what an amazing fellow and hopefully he remains at NHoF for a long time! I will be back to visit again!!

We traveled all the way from Hungary, and visiting the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte was absolutely worth it! The exhibits, the atmosphere, and the passion for racing are beyond amazing. You can truly feel the heart and history of NASCAR in every detail. A dream come true for any fan unforgettable experience!

A lovely sanctuary for curious minds. This museum stands out not only for its impressive collection but for the way the exhibits connect us to our planet’s history in such a tangible way. The architecture and lighting create a memorable setting that invites reflection. We left with full hearts and a new perspective on nature. It is a destination I now hold among my fondest travel memories, and one I recommend without hesitation.

We were absolutely delighted by our visit here! The lady was sooo helpful when we arrived. She explained every indoor area of the museum as well as outdoors. We took our time and enjoyed every written, material, informative video presentations, and outdoor exploration of the museum! Everything is expertly arranged. A history buff's dream.

A great tour of the home with a very informative discussion and imaginative guide who described the construction of the home with real passion for history. And proceeded to speculate with a real zest for the possible untold stories in the intervening years between the home being a private residence and a museum.
