Great park in the heart of the city and in between Pitt and CMU's campus. There are several playgrounds, trails, a pool, running track, frisbee golf course, has outdoor movies in the summer, and is home to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix and Phipps Botanical Gardens! There is plenty of places to enjoy a good book, as well as play outdoor sports.
