Here at the confluence of Allegheny River and Monongahela River, the scene is breathtaking. On the north side, you see Carnegie Science Center, Heinz Field, PNC Park, and three identical bridges. On the south side, you see Mt. Washington, Bridge and tunnel. Looking at the direction of downtown, you have the skyline. Plus, there is a fountain and will be a Christmas tree when in holiday season. Wondering around and spending time with friends here is one of the best getaways in Pittsburgh.
We went on a lovely day, really great park. Clean, lots of places to walk. The riverfront area was a great place to take the kids for a picnic. We enjoyed the weather and sat in the shade. The fountain looked great. Furthermore, there are awesome pictures that you can take with the skyline from the fountain. You can see major Pittsburgh buildings and other highlights sitting, like the stadium, the science center, and the incline.
What a beautiful park you can see most of downtown's bridges and the tunnel while enjoying nature with nice walking paths and the large fountain is a lot of fun too. Restrooms: Very clean wash area. . Picnic area: Bench along water... sitting area by fountain and large green area to lay a blanket for picnic.
