3 Best Steak Houses in Madison, WI

The Tornado Steak House cooked the best steak I have ever had in my entire life! I am a steak guy for sure but I’m not willing to pay an arm and a leg for the better steaks out there. So, I ordered the biggest and cheapest steak I could which was the 16 oz. Sirloin and it was just amazing! I can’t imagine what the best cuts of steak taste like here. My steak was cooked just right being perfectly tender and juicy. Everything else I had was great as well but it was all about the steak here. I will say I ate here twice while on my trip and each time it took a good while between ordering my food and getting it. No joke it took about a hour each time. Thank you to Tornado Steak House for serving me the best steak I have ever had.

One of the most pleasurable dining experiences in Madison. Super cool atmosphere, incredible service and my steak was cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY. The shrimp, French onion soup and wedge salad were also super good but the sleeper here was the pineapple upside down cake! OMG! TO DIE FOR.

Stopped by a steakhouse while traveling for work and it was packed, which is usually a good sign. I didn’t feel like waiting, so I grabbed a seat at the bar to get my food quicker. Ordered the filet with peppercorn sauce, asparagus, and a baked potato — and wow, the steak was amazing. Super tender, cooked just right, and the peppercorn sauce gave it that perfect kick. The sides were solid too, but the filet definitely stole the show. Great spot for a quality steak if you're on the road and hungry.

Bartenders were overwhelmed and couldn't keep up customers at the bar, but the highlight was the waitress named Genevieve. She stepped in at the bar. She was exceptional with doing well with everything, tending bar,attention to detail with customers, and great customer service. These bartenders need to take notes from Genevieve.

Great place to go to when someone else is buying! The atmosphere was on point, the food was well made and perfectly curated. The specialty “smoked” old fashioned was a lot of fun. Parking was a little bit of an issue but also expected for downtown on a Saturday night.

Stopped by for happy hour as I had heard great things about it. We ordered the chili shrimp, sliders and steak frites. Wow! So delicious! The portions are small but that was fine with us, we didn’t walk away hungry. Would definitely recommend.
