3 Best Assisted Living Facilities in Norfolk, VA

My wife and I moved into the Talbot 4 years ago. From the very first meeting with Talbot agent, we have had a very positive encounter. The first 2 apartments we were shown were not large enough for our belongings. The Director said that she had a unit we would like but was not ready just yet. We reviewed the unit and liked it right away and signed the lease. We make good use of the activities area and the outings they put together. The activities are run extremely well and there is always something for everyone. It was lunch time, and we were offered a very nice lunch. This was another very positive part of the Talbot. There is always food served in the dining room that is acceptable to the majority of residents. We were shown the pool area and again a positive feeling of a place we wanted to live. We went to the exercise and physical training area and were shown and told the benefits of this area. Another positive point on why to move into the Talbot on Granby. Now the big question were the Talbot apartments reasonably priced. After reviewing other places in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area we would say yes, The Talbot on Granby deserves the 5-star rating.

My mother has been a resident at The Talbot for about 10 to 11 years. The location is central to all things. The front desk is always friendly and attentive. As an independent living facility with transportation and dining, activities, and plenty of friendly people, The Talbot is awesome.

Great Neighbors, who are new friends. Activities to keep you engaged and active. Dining serving team some of the friendliest people that always aim to please. Management team very approachable. Housekeeping excellent. Spacious apartment, beautiful gardens. We’re glad we chose to move here.

We moved here a year ago after a two year search for a CCRC they met our needs. We love it here and congratulate ourselves regularly on moving from Florida to the Edge. The place is beautiful, the staff and services are wonderful, the food is great, needed services are readily available, the views are amazing, the residents are welcoming, and, to address a few of the reviews, there is lots of parking for residents. I even walk to some doctor appointments and we love the light rail that stops in our backyard.. We couldn't be happier.

We moved to Harbor's Edge in July 2021 and could not be happier. The amenities are excellent, and the staff is nonpareil. Our community consists of an eclectic group of highly successful and social citizens. Norfolk offers excellent opportunities for myriad activities including sports and the arts. As a retired military member, the access to DOD facilities is a plus for us. My advice for anyone considering moving to a community like Harbor's Edge, "Sooner is better than later!".
