3 Best Bagel Shops in Philadelphia, PA

We stopped in Spread Bagelry for a late morning Sunday breakfast. The venue is quite large with several tables and a bar section which was unused at the time. I order The Standard with bacon, egg, and cheese. They were out of everything bagels so I tried a salted egg for the first time. The bagel wasn't my favorite but the sandwich was well made. The bacon was crispy, the eggs were scrambled well and there was loads of cheese in every bite. I paired this with a hot chocolate made with oat milk. They also have soy, almond, and non-dairy milk as alternatives. My girlfriend ordered a Fritatta Scramble on a cinnamon raisin bagel and liked hers as well. She ordered a caramel iced latte to wash it down. They had the Eagles game on as we were leaving. There were other patrons hanging out or studying. Nice location for a good breakfast sandwich. Next time I’d like to try one of their many cream cheese flavors.

Love love love my first Montreal- Style sesame bagel at Spread!!!!Being married to a New Yorker , I learned to instantly freeze any extra New York Bagels to take home to Virginia- but Philly, you have opened my eyes to the amazing taste of Montreal bagels at Spread’s Bagelry!!! Thank goodness my sons live in Philly so we will be back with freezer bags!! Cozy and warm atmosphere and the managers and staff were so very kind.

I’m writing this review because this is arguably my favorite bagel spot in Philly. They serve Montreal-style bagels which I came to love. The menu has something for everybody. They have breakfast sandwiches, vegetarian, meat-heavy, you name it. And it’s delicious! The bagels are baked right out of the wood-fire oven. Heaven. Highly recommend!

Born and raised in New York, I've eaten my share of bagels over the years. These are the best bagels I've had, and my brunch guests agreed. We did a takeout order for a combo of plain, egg and everything bagels plus their plain cream cheese spread. The flavor and texture of the bagels were perfect. The bagels had a light crispness with hints of sweetness vs sourness. There was none of the chewiness and dryness you expect with bagels. Our order was filled right away, and the price was very reasonable. Their cafe space is cozy, especially the back room, if you choose to eat in. When my shiba and I walk by here in the early morning hours, we see the staff already hard at work. We will be back to try their sandwiches.

Stopped on a whim as I was driving by and I absolutely love this place! It’s a cute space (with all gender restrooms!), the bagels are fresh and their spreads are so flavorful! Staff is super nice and helpful. I was able to sample a few spreads the I ordered the everything bagel with cheddar horseradish sour cream. So good! I love that they give a generous amount of cream cheese also!

First time customer, had a great experience. Incredibly friendly staff & not to mention a delicious meal! The bagel was so fresh & loved my sausage, egg & cheese.
