The JW Marriott Grand Rapids is a solid choice if you’re looking for a nicer, upscale Marriott experience in the area. The rooms were clean and well-maintained—everything felt in good working order, which is really all you can ask for. The staff was friendly and professional, and a few team members stood out for being especially helpful without being overbearing. One thing worth mentioning: the duvet on the bed was surprisingly comfortable—warm, soft, and perfect for a good night’s sleep. It’s a small detail, but one that made the stay more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a well-run hotel with good service and a comfortable setup. Nothing over-the-top, but definitely a reliable and pleasant place to stay.

Spent the weekend at this property, no complaints here. The room was big and clean, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the grounds were spotless. The property is in the heart of downtown, lots of restaurants within walking distance. We attended a medical school graduation that was held in the grand ballroom. The meal was delicious and the serving staff were very professional and attentive. The gym had just enough equipment for a great workout. The pool was heated and indoors. Due to my titanium status, I had access to the lounge on the 23rd floor. Unlimited drinks and snacks were available, and I must mention how awesome the Saturday morning breakfast was. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at for work. Great bathrooms and rooms. The food and exec lounge are also very good.

We stayed here for a volleyball tournament. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. We requested an early check in before my daughter started playing at the tournament and they got us in no problem. The rooms were clean and nice and the breakfast was really good with variety of choices. The large dining area was very accommodating for our large group of volleyball players and families to eat a late dinner after playing all afternoon. Free cookies and coffee in the lobby were also really nice.

Stayed 2 nights on a business trip and the place was fantastic! Quiet rooms, spacious, and very firm, clean bedding. The continental breakfast was full and very delicious! The staff was exemplary including one young lady who gave me a tip on what food to get at the restaurant across from it. (When staying here, go to Gravity and get the Reuben!...you won't regret it!). Very close to the sculpture garden where I was working. I would call it my home away from home (seeing as there wasn't much else around it). I would give this place an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up.

Shout out to this Hotel and staff for amazing say over this past weekend March 20 til the 23rd. For my mother surprise birthday weekend all the kids and the grand kids enjoyed are stay. Everyone and everything was on point from are rooms , and the food the location the respect and the kindness they showed us. We will be back when we come back to visit.
