The buffets are always a hit! I did hear a few people say they are a bit mild for their taste but I think they are purposefully mild to make it to more accessible to everyone. So if you are someone who loves spicy food, then the buffets might be a bit more on the milder side and I suggest getting something off the menu as you can adjust for spice. This time I tried their Taj special biriyani. I was really excited about this biriyani and got medium spice level. It tasted amazing but, it was just way too spicy for a medium. I can usually handle spice but this was definitely more spicy than I expected for a medium.
Best Indian food in the Pittsburgh area. Seriously id lick the floor of this place if it had curry sauce on it. Omg the mango ice cream they pass around during the buffet is AMAAAAZING. Everything is amazing here. Can't go wrong with anything.

TOP 3 TAMARIND FLAVOR OF INDIA REVIEWS
No excuses!!. It was great the food quality is very authentic and indian. The crowd amazed me more since a lot of them were native. The service was good. Only if they could add directions to handwash and certain aesthetic part of the area they are doing great. When I was dinning it was crowded and then the services were unattended. They could increase raita quantity when served with biryanis, but you can ask for more. Definitely looking to come again with many more people..
No frills Indian restaurant with focus on South Indian restaurant. Went from breakfast/brunch around noon on a Sunday and the place was half occupied. Had the mysore masala dosa and my friend had the madras masala dosa and both were amazing. Gotta say I found it to be better than Udipi in Monroeville. We also had the idlis which were soft and fluffy and the bisi bele bhaath which was just okay. They didn’t have filter coffee which was a let down and the regular coffee that they had was very mediocre. Would avoid.
This is what southern Indian food is all about. Never had a dosa like that outside of India. Worth the 25 minute walk from the campuses.

TOP 3 ALL INDIA AUTHENTIC CUISINE REVIEWS
Absolutely delicious food and amazing portions! My friend and I ordered food to share and we had so much food we had to take home leftovers. There are several Indian restaurants in the area, but this one definitely has some of the most (what I believe to be) authentic and home inspired flavors that I've tasted in the city of Pittsburgh. I'm so thankful to have this gem in the area for me to be able to keep coming back and trying more of their delicious meals.
Was in Pittsburgh briefly for work and stopped there for lunch. The lunch buffet selection is excellent amd everything I tried was delicious. They have a quite a number of vegetarian options to choose from. There is limited parking in the front but there is also parking behind the restaurant which is accessible from Dollar St. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was quiet but friendly.
Great place to have indian food in Pittsburgh! Delicious food, always fresh with lots of flavors. For vegetarian’s Special paneer biryani is super delicious. Paneer tikka sizzler is a way more awesome. Quantity is good enough for two people.
