3 Best Steak Houses in Pittsburgh, PA

Great service and good food. They had a nice wine list and the cocktails were perfect. All of the appetizers were excellent. My steak was cooked as requested. The lobster mac and cheese was really good. The cream spinach was a bit bland and could have used more cream and butter. The espresso cake was excellent. Overall everyone enjoyed their meals. Be ready to spend, but it was worth the experience to celebrate a special occasion. The bread basket was particularly notable with different types of bread, much better than other steak restaurants I've frequented, but don't fill up on bread, the food is really good. Reservations recommended.

We had a wonderful holiday dinner at The Capital Grill in downtown Pittsburgh before attending a performance at Heinz Hall. Ability to make a reservation online which is perfect! The food was great, Amanda, our server was fantastic, one of the best we have had in recent experiences at a few other restaurants in the previous months. She was attentive and personable. The food was great as were the cocktails. The atmosphere was loud and festive but it was a busy Sunday night and so this isn’t really a negative. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a steakhouse, with great service and conveniently located to most places in downtown Pittsburgh.

Second time and equally impressed by service, atmosphere and food. French onion soup was probably the best I ever had. Ribeye with aged balsamic was superb and the cheesecake and chocolate torte were fantastic! Highly recommended and absolutely worth the price.

absolutely delicious!! we came to Eddie Merlot’s to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint. the pineapple spicy margarita, sweet and spicy shrimp, filet, and crab cakes were so amazing and probably the best we’ve ever had. our server Jake was personable and helpful. we were very impressed by the atmosphere and were torn between multiple dishes because everything sounded so good. the portions were bigger than expected, i had leftovers and they tasted just as good reheated the next day. we can’t wait to return we miss it already.

We had a nice dinner here at Eddie Merlot’s. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff were all very kind and went out of their way to make us feel special. I had the filet with lobster claws and my wife had the salmon. We shared a side of mashed potatoes. I started with French onion soup and she started with a salad. We finished our night with complimentary crème brûlée and a massive piece of chocolate cake. We enjoyed everything and will be back.

Went on our anniversary. Our hosts were amazing and even gave us a signed card for the occasion. They also gave us complimentary champagne and dessert. They were incredible, and it is certainly worth it.
