IPPUDO REVIEWS
First timer - without reservation approximately 40 minutes after opening I went it with my husband for a table inside. Current climate, asked for our vaccination cards and IDs. We were seated promptly, and the staff was very attentive. Space was clean, tables were socially distanced. For drinks, my husband ordered the Sakura which was nice, however the end has a strong grapefruit flavor. I ordered the choryo which was lovely. We ordered a pork bun, chicken bun, I got the shiromaru motoaji with pork and a boiled egg, and my husband got the akamaru shinaji with chicken. The buns were fantastic. The rich pork was seated in a beautiful cloud, with lettuce - bringing a chew and cleanliness to the flavor. The chicken was delicious with crisp skin and a nicely spiced sauce, also with lettuce. The shirmaru soup was lovely. Noodles were perfect, broth was flavorful and the egg was lovely. The akamaru had a nice hit of heat, same wit the noodles and broth. I absolutely loved coming here and I see myself revisiting.
I've been here several times and its always a home run. Fast service, nice people and good food. Sometimes can have a bit of a long wait, but that's what happens when you go to a really good restaurant around dinner time - everyone else wants some too.
Make sure you bring proof of vaccination with you. Best time to go there with no wait time is before lunch rush. Appetizers were served promptly. Ramen noodles and the chicken buns were yummy. Hot tea goes well with the meal. Great services.

Izakaya Mew is a popular, secret gem tucked below the busy street of East 35th Street. It is known to be a comfortable and lively pub-style atmosphere parallel to izakayas found in Japan. It combines the flavors of traditional Japanese cuisine with the dynamic trends of New York's food culture. Izakaya Mew is a late-night izakaya for soba salad, sushi, yakitori & other Japanese fares in a spartan-looking space. The restaurant has a cozy, heated, and outdoor street seating setup. Izakaya MEW initially opened in the bustling community of midtown Manhattan. The Japanese chef Kiyoshi Iwakiri and their team developed a menu that would preserve Japanese cuisine's delicate flavors while adding futuristic elements to create Japanese-style tapas that suit a wide range of palates. Izakaya MEW specializes in authentic Japanese izakaya tapas. They offer a full selection of Japanese beers, shochu (liquor), and housemade cocktails.

IZAKAYA MEW REVIEWS
Their food is so good. One of the most fresh fishes I had. Especially like the fat tuna. The restaurant is under ground floor in basement. The decorations are just so so. If you don’t want to order the lunch special, you should avoid to this place between 12 and 3 pm. They are too busy during that time frame so service is not that good. For example, it took more than 20 minutes to get my cheesecake. But I can understand that and will reduce the rating because of that. We are here for food so food is the most important thing.
Absolutely delicious! The highlights for us were the corn tempura, cold eggplant, the cheesecake, and the kiwi cocktail. I thought the hamachi kama seemed a little dry, the tuna roll a little bland, and the grilled octopus too strongly flavored. The service was very fast and overall a good experience and very tasty food. Would highly recommend making a reservation to not have to wait as long in line.
This place is the BEST izakaya in town! I regret going on Sunday and should have gone there on Friday or Saturday night. It has this cozy yet lively party vibe where you enjoy the fun environment but still have intimate conversation with your own group at the table. Everything is so delicious. I ordered omu yakisoba, nabe and tofu salad. The omu yakisoba is a must try. My friend who has never tried Japanese food loved it so much. The tea infused vodka is also a bomb.

BENIHANA REVIEWS
I was a bit skeptical with covid numbers spiking again especially since usually the seats are very close. But this location has taken the necessary precautions to make you feel safe. They also take your temperature before you enter the establishment. You sit 6 feet away from other guest and the chef still does those awesome food tricks. The drinks are awesome the hostess and waitress were super friendly. I would definitely go back when the world opens up again. Great experience.
Always hear and see about this place and finally went and I was impressed every step of the way, our chef was very funny and made excellent food. Our waitress was the only negative thing I can say about this night, it was as if it was her first time ever waiting a table, she didn’t know the menu, and was very forgetful but I won’t let that takeaway from everything else that was great. Will definitely return.
Great experience, food was amazing, drinks taste like juice full of ice and barely any liquor smh. The cook was amazing. I went with 10 people and the bill came up to 600+ not bad, it would have been alot more if everyone had drinks. Only 6 drinks I believe was ordered. And don't forget to tip the cook.
