“Tavern on the Green offers American food in a stylish setting with courtyard and garden seating. This restaurant was started as a simple sheepfold in Central Park, New York City, where 300 Southdown sheep grazed. Calvert Vaux designed them in the Victorian Gothic Revival style. In the 1930s, the building was turned into Central Park’s first restaurant, starting its journey as a famous dining spot. Over time, it underwent several renovations, including the addition of the famous Crystal Room. In 2014, Jim Caiola and David Salama restored the landmark with support from the City of New York. Tavern on the Green is a top dining spot, offering a Classic American Menu and hosting weddings, corporate events, and special gatherings. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and family-friendly. Their $145 prix-fixe menu includes four delicious courses created by Executive Chef Bill Peet.”
