"Gal Szekely is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and director of The Couples Center. Gal is an incredible therapist and trainer! I highly recommend their somatic couples training program! I received such helpful guidance and support in deepening my work with couples in my practice through this training and would recommend it to anyone.

I worked with Gal for almost 2 years and can't speak highly enough about my experience. Having tried working with a therapist a few times I found a good fit with Gal's approach and methodology and was appreciative that I had the opportunity to work with him. I also had the pleasure of attending some of The Couples Center's online events that they hosted during Shelter In Place which were very high quality, helpful and attended by a lot of couples!

Gal and his team of couples therapists are my go to resource for couples counseling the San Francisco Bay Area. As a career coach I work with people who lead busy lives and their relationships often suffer from the pressure of work. I have the same challenge myself:) I’ve learned that a relationship takes work just like careers take work. Couples therapy is a great way to work on your relationship and the Couples Center is a great place to go to learn relationship skills. I can’t think of a couple that wouldn’t benefit from seeing a couples counselor, regardless of whether the couple is not yet married or have been married for decades. All of the clients I’ve referred to Gal for couples counseling say that the sessions were very helpful and they were able to make significant changes in a short time. The Couples Center also offers workshops and has a lot of free resources on their website for couples therapy and relationship skills. All in all it's a great resource for couples that want to work on their relationship.

Brendan has an innate understanding of safety, both internal and environmental. Brendan knows how to hold space for someone else to find and feel their safety. By using well chosen words, compassionate active listening, and deep heart felt empathy, Brendan has held a space for me to feel incredibly safe while I experience my own mental/emotional/physical process. I also appreciate Brendan’s wonderful sense of humor. He has uplifted me in my high times and lovingly empathized with me in my low times.

Brendan is a phenomenal couples counselor who creates nurturing, accepting, inclusive spaces for people of all stripes to come together for support around their relationships. I found him to be open, curious, kind, and willing to grapple with my partner and me around tough issues that most people thankfully will not ever have to face. Brendan was brave and encouraging, and he helped us at a time that we really need guidance and support. We will always be grateful.

Brendan is a jewel of a human being and a therapist. His compassionate presence creates immense space for difficult moments to be held in grace and his insightful and precise guidance helped me understand myself and my relationship with much greater depth. I have found myself enjoying much more freedom and connection in my romantic relationship as a result of working with Brendan.

Figs is a super sharp and insightful therapist. He’s also deeply sensitive and empathetic. I know him as a colleague, having participated in workshops and professional development trainings with him. He is warm, tuned-in, and perceptive. I appreciate how he uses humor to make it easier to work with challenging emotions. He is easy to connect with, accepting and caring. I am always happy to have the chance to refer clients to him because I know they are in good hands. He does individual therapy and couples counseling / couples therapy in San Francisco and Marin.

In my own private practice as a Sex & Intimacy Coach, when I see couples who need help building a foundation of loving attachment with each other, and who need a kind but firm presence to see them through the gnarly bits, I send them to Figs!
