3 Best Museums in New York City, NY

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Brooklyn Museum in Jan 26 to see the Monet & Venice Exhibition before it left. I have always enjoyed Monet's works and this did not disappoint. It was a real treat to see a few of his Waterlily pieces up close and in person. Didn't have a whole lot of time to explore the rest that the Brooklyn Museum offers but what little I did see was amazing. You could spend days here. Special shout out to the museum's café! We had lunch and enjoyed some of their bakery items. The tomato soup really hit the spot on a chilly day and who doesn't find comfort in the traditional grilled cheese and tomato soup combo? Top it off with some baked cookies with some interesting twists in flavor. Super yum!

Absolutely excellent museum and surprisingly huge. It is well worth a visit. Good mix of more modern art with ancient and traditional and lots of open spaces for relaxing or reflecting. The fifth floor in particular is laid out to invite lots of thought on how museums display art. Very fascinating.

A Hidden Gem for NYC History Lovers I’m so glad I took the time to visit this museum—it’s truly a hidden gem! The building itself is beautiful, and the exhibits are thoughtfully curated with something for every learning style. You’ll find artifacts from different eras, informative displays, and engaging videos that bring the city’s rich history to life. Don’t miss the 30-minute film on the history of NYC—shown across three screens—it’s a must-see! The museum also has a nice café and large air-conditioned bathrooms, which are a bonus and elevators. Conveniently located not far from a bus line, this spot is both accessible and enjoyable. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.

I was pleasantly surprised by the exhibits. Online I didn't think I'd find anything to enjoy but opted to visit on a free Wednesday since all of the fashion exhibits were permanently closed now. I was happy to see that some garments remained in the ballroom portion of the music and dance through the ages exhibit and some select small items in the other exhibit rooms to satisfy my desire for fashion in NYC. Im happy we made the journey out

First time visiting this museum. I loved it. They have a permanent exhibit on the cultural history of New York City on the ground floor, and rotating exhibits upstairs. I loved the one about music and dance. Had a great intro to the museum from a super nice guide. Recommended!
