3 Best Places To See in New Orleans, LA

We are on vacation love to check out zoos in various areas. Audobon Zoo is one of our favorites, second only to The Bronx Zoo. 10/10 would recommend visiting. Ticket prices are reasonable, and general entry is included with encounter purchases, which we did. The layout is great for meandering through and seeing all the highlight animals. There are plenty of seating and refreshment areas throughout each section. Each area also pays homage to the culture of the people instead of simply being focused on the animals, which is an excellent bonus many zoos don't have. It took us about 5 hours to walk the whole zoo. In addition to viewing the animals, we did an animal encounter and met the zoo's male white rhino, Saba. This is a new encounter experience for the zoo and only their second week offering it, but we never would have known had they not told us. The staff was prepared, courteous, and knowledgeable. They were able to answer all of our questions and gave us a lot of information in a way that didn't feel overwhelming or really even like learning. Again, 10/10 would recommend this experience.

This zoo was the best zoo either of us had ever been to. I'm not a huge zoo enthusiast so maybe I'm just unaware but this was the first zoo that had so many open enclosures in that you could view these amazing animals and get great photos without having to do so between bars. Big cats were mostly caged but other animals had space where they could be viewed without obstructions. We were also able to view animals we have never seen living on the west side of the United States. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Definitely recommend! It's helpful to note that the zoo is a few miles away from the aquarium.

I've been to a lot of zoos in a lot of states and considered not going today because I feel like I've seen it all, but wow I'm glad I went. This place is huge, every single part of it is gorgeous, and there are exhibits everywhere, many built in a natural way such that sometimes you don't even realize you're walking on a boardwalk that goes right through an exhibit. The information about the animals is interesting, and there are many places that are less zoo and more just beautiful park area. Definitely worth the visit, plus you can bundle it with the aquarium and insectarium and see all three for less.

We had a fantastic time at the Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium! It’s a great value for the price there’s so much to see and do, especially if you have little ones. Our toddler was absolutely fascinated by the colorful fish, interactive exhibits, and especially the butterfly garden. The insectarium is surprisingly fun and educational, with plenty of hands-on displays that kept our child engaged. Everything is clean, well-organized, and stroller-friendly, making it easy to explore with a young family. Highly recommend for a fun and memorable day out in New Orleans.

This was a great experience we did on a whim. We went during parade season so it was not super crowded. Tons of interactive exhibits were very fun and accessible for all age groups (we are adults). Very cool to see the biome exhibits and tons of variety in species and presentation. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a great time at the aquarium! We loved the insectarium as well. Everything was very clean and well kept. The workers were very nice and informative, especially Grant. If we are in town again we will definitely revisit.
