Audubon Aquarium offers a unique, immersive experience of an underwater world. The aquarium has a 400,000-gallon tank with coral reefs, sharks, rays, and a walk-through tunnel. There are 10,000 animals in total, representing 530 different species. The aquarium has four exhibits. The Caribbean reef is a 30-foot (9 m) long tunnel, a 132,000-gallon tank. The Amazon exhibit is encased in a glass cylinder. The Gulf of Mexico exhibit is the aquarium's primary attraction, which is the 400,000-gallon tank. The Mississippi River gallery features sea life such as catfish, paddlefish, owls, and a leucistic white alligator. Audubon Aquarium also rescues many animals and rehabilitates them for release back into the wild.
