Gorgeous park! I think I have found my favorite place in New Orleans. Beautiful trails, friendly volunteers working diligently to care for the park. Loved Scout Island and the Couture Arboretum. Appreciated seeing well over thirty turtles sunning themselves, having a young white crane casually lead me past an 800 year old oak tree.
Excellent park that features architectural sites, fountains and sculptures. Excellent location off of Rampart. Features bridges over the featured ponds but are not all wheel chair friendly. Lots of tree shade. The ponds may need some upkeep. Otherwise it is a pleasant place to visit in daylight hours. There may be indigent population at night in the unlit areas.
