SAN FRANCISCO ZOO REVIEWS

We had a fantastic experience here on a quiet sunny Friday. It took us around 3.5 hours to walk through the whole zoo taking our time at most exhibits. The enclosures are clean and large with visual sites of many enrichment activities for the animals inside. The animals themselves were active for the most part and look healthy, enriched and well fed. There are clear signs that they are very well taken care of. Highly recommend going to this zoo, especially during the weekdays when it may be quieter.

We had such a great time at the San Francisco Zoo! My kid absolutely loved it, seeing the animals up close, riding the train, and exploring the exhibits made for a really special day. It’s a beautiful place for families and kids to connect with nature. The only downside is that they’re no longer accepting EBT, which was disappointing. I hope they consider bringing that option back to keep the zoo accessible to more families. Still, overall a wonderful experience.

The San Francisco Zoo offers a wonderful escape with diverse animal exhibits and lush gardens. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit engaging for all ages. It's a great place for families to learn about wildlife and enjoy a day outdoors.

CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES REVIEWS

We visited the California Academy of Sciences, located in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco recently and we had an incredible afternoon. There are so many outstanding exhibits, animals, and interactive displays that it would be impossible to list them all, but here are some that we really enjoyed: the spectacular Morrison Planetarium, Tusher African Hall, Steinhart Aquarium, Osher Rain Forest, Kimball Natural History Museum, Philippine Coral Reef, The Swamp, with Claude the albino alligator, and the Living Roof, a rolling green roof with spectacular views of Golden Gate Park. And believe it or not, there is still so much more to see and do at the California Academy of Sciences that we would recommend more than one visit. And don't forget the kids.

Love love loved the academy of sciences ever since I was a kid and I’m happy to share the experiences with my own little ones. Their dinosaur exhibit is totally worth it as there are some places just charging for dinosaurs. Aquariums are well kept and a great option if you like marine life and other animals. The rainforest still is well maintained but I didn’t notice as many butterflies on this trip as we saw previously. We were lucky to snag some tickets for their Academy Day which brought the price down to $5 per person or whatever you can donate and kids under 3 are free! Definitely will make the trip out here again.

A truly impressive and diverse science museum located in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. From the living rainforest dome and mesmerizing aquarium to the planetarium and natural history exhibits, everything is top-notch. It’s an educational and entertaining experience for all ages. The architecture is stunning, especially the living roof. Allocate at least half a day to explore thoroughly. A must-visit for anyone interested in science, nature, or simply a great day indoors.

SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART REVIEWS

Moma is a wonderful museum to visit during a trip to San Francisco. Monthly, they even have free tickets. There are exhibits and activities there to make modern art accessible to the whole family. My favorite room is the Alexander Calder exhibit that is on permanent exhibit. There were activities for my kids to make art. The curators have done a great job of breaking up the flow of the exhibits -- we got to view some art and then stop and play. They clearly understood kids can't focus on just looking at art for too long. To be clear, this is no kid museum there is no touching the artwork, but they do have a number of kids rooms to keep them entertained with activities and projects.

There is always something new and something for everyone to take in. Pay attention to what important shows are up as you may need timed tickets. The museum layout can be confusing at times but take the stairs if you can, the views out the windows are beautiful. Grab coffee on the roof and enjoy the sculpture garden. We’ve been members since 1986.

Highly recommended museum while you are in San Francisco. If you are a fan of modern art, this is a must see museum. You can spend all day there and they offer a senior discount. Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns, Matisse, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol and many big name modern artists are represented in this museum.
