'The River School' helps children take the first steps from learning at home to learning in a school environment. The preschool faculty all hold master's degrees; each classroom is co-taught by an educator and a speech-language pathologist. Their teaching teams nurture and guide students as they explore through play in their dynamic, theme-based classes. The River School offers a play-based curriculum to the kids that provide opportunities to build a foundation of skills in numerous areas, including language, social-emotional awareness, self-regulation, and problem-solving. 'The Children's House of Washington' is a Montessori preschool, located in the heart of Washington DC, in the historic Georgetown neighborhood. Patti Harburger is the founder of The Children's House of Washington. The preschool teachers are trained facilitators in the classroom, always ready to assist and direct. They have children whose native languages included Spanish, French, Farsi, Italian, Russian, Swedish, German, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese.
