Incredible views of DTLA, open air, yet covered, excellent, and extensive menu. There are tons of cold sake to choose from, special rolls, classic rolls, and fun appetizers. Also, they have a plentiful dessert menu. Service was fast and friendly. Ambiance at dinner was very romantic and dimly lit. Wonderful location and quality.

We made a reservation but it turned out that wasn’t necessary as it’s not busy. But the atmosphere was nice and you could see the city from above. Our waiter was extremely nice. He was attentive and cheerful. The food was really good. My sashimi was very fresh and it’s the first time that I had fresh wasabi.

The best sushi and atmosphere! Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the quality of the sushi—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. The ambiance is also amazing, creating the perfect environment for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

KATSUYA REVIEWS

I was in the area for an event and came across Katsuya LA. Needless to say, I had a great time and enjoyed good food and drinks. I was hoping to order a watermelon Mojito, but come to find out, that it’s no longer offered. Our server, Luis, was very helpful and accommodating. He recommended the yuzu Paloma and Katsuya Fresh and they were incredible! Some of the best drinks I’ve had. The food was also great - we enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. Definitely worth the 5 stars.

We went straight for the tasting menu and was very satisfied! Did not opt for the wine pairing as were lightweights but do enjoy a couple of reds and whites with it. Friendly staff, good relaxing atmosphere and walking distance from the JW Marriott and pretty much any event place in the area of LA LIVE! We were very satisfied with the quality of the food and the friendly service. Certainly coming back to this place when I’m back in LA.

Incredible cuisine here. Fully appreciated all that was put in front of my. Delectable from start to finish. Excellent service as well. This hit right just before a Lakers game too.

The best sushi in LA. Fast service, freshest and best quality of fish. Highly recommend the toro (fatty tuna) and their fatty salmon. 10/10 for me. My mouth is still watering from the lunch I had today. I’m so happy I found this place. I recommend sitting at the bar.

Sushi Gen offers fresh, delicious sushi with great service. However, I’d suggest a bit more attention to hygiene. It gets very crowded, so I recommend arriving around 10:30am to secure a table. The quality is worth it, making it a must-visit spot in Little Tokyo!

Couldn’t stop ordering sashimi it was so good! Wait is long but totally worth it. The fish is so fresh, service was impeccable, and price is very fair.
