3 Best American Restaurants in Washington, DC

We had a fantastic experience at Founder Farmer! The food was absolutely delicious - the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the linguine was flavorful and well-cooked, and the roast pork chops were tender and savory. The fish and chips were a highlight too, with a perfectly beer-battered coating. The beer selection was great, and it paired perfectly with our meal. We also enjoyed the cocktail drinks, particularly the Old Fashioned, which was well-balanced and expertly crafted. What really impressed us, though, was the service. Despite being incredibly busy, the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided top-notch service. They were always on top of things, refilling drinks and checking in on us without being overbearing. It's clear they're a well-oiled machine, even on busy nights. Overall, we'd definitely recommend Founder Farmer for a tasty meal and great drinks in a lively atmosphere.

Lovely meal here! Jose was an amazing server and helped us pick out some delicious entrees. Definitely make reservations because it seems packed every night but we can see why. Would definitely come here if we find ourselves in town again.

This was a superb way to start our Washington, DC trip. The service was exceptional as was the food. We loved the cornbread with butter and honey! We got a wide variety of food, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The menu is full of variety, so there is definitely something for everyone. We even went back before we left town to get their candy bar sampler box to take home! Even that is made in house with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend you make this one of your meal stops in DC!

Incredibly impressed with The Hamilton, this place is huge, beautifully decorated, and really well staffed. All of the staff were kind and courteous and our waiter Lorenzo was superb. The quality of this place matches the price, and it was completely reasonable. Definitely will be back in the future. The portions were huge and the food was flavorful, I did not expect the appetizers, especially the mussels to be as generous as they were. The burger was fantastic, the Parmesan fries were great, pork belly and tuna were fantastic as well. We had reservations and had to wait about 5 minutes for a table while they set it up.

I would give 100 stars if I could. Atmosphere, Ascetics, Customer Service and Food flavor and quality off the charts good. This place is so good it can bee a little noisy, that’s just joyful noise. Seating is fast for the volume. They know what they are doing. And there are some great value minded choices too.

Great selections of menu items. Lots of choices from steak, shrimp, sushi to hamburgers. Everything was cooked very well. Iced tea was good. It was very pleasant to sit down and having very nice dinner. prices can’t be a little higher, but the food is very excellent and the dining experience was very elegant. The service was great. They gave us a 30 minute wait time and we ended up only having to wait 10 minutes. Our server was excellent and very friendly. The decor is very nice inside and very pleasant. Each room has a different type of theme. There’s bird theme in every room, paintings and sculptures accent by deep wood tones.
