Chef Saran "Peter" Kannasute was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and grew up in a family passionate about cooking. His dreams flourished in the small restaurant his family owned, where he developed his skills in both the business and creative aspects of his culinary career. He is a Washington Post-accredited chef and a first-place winner in numerous culinary competitions across the country. The restaurant and lounge offer several unique dining options. Kyojin Sushi is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday. The restaurant is great for dinner, features a full bar, and offers vegan options. He is an SSI-certified sake advisor and the first chef to introduce Japanese premium sake to Washington, D.C., in 1992. He has served for ten years on the board of RAMW (Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington) and is a member of the U.S. State Department’s Culinary Diplomacy Partnership Initiative. The restaurant is a sushi spot with familiar and specialty Japanese menu options, including chef’s tasting menus. They offer takeout and home delivery options to their customers. Abby was incredible! She gave my wife and I great food and drink recommendations, as well as checked in on us periodically to make sure we were doing well. My favorite suggestion was “The Winner”, however all of the food was delicious and the drinks were phenomenal. 10/10 highly recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful joint birthday dinner here. We sat at the sushi bar. Wonderful service and impeccable food. Our server, Quynh was so helpful and absolutely amazing. Ben was also incredibly helpful and warm. Will be coming back. 10/10 recommend!

Quynh was our server, and made the experience absolutely incredible. We gave her liberty over our order, and every single bite was divine. 15/10 recommend.

The hanger steak appetizer was delicious. Was my first time trying actual caviar (not the biggest fan but that’s just personal preference). Also tried the sea urchin out of curiosity, wasn’t anything special. My favorite was the spicy California. Recommend giving this spot a shot, they have unique options and service was good.

Kaz is our absolute go-to for fresh fish. Whether is a classic sushi presentation or something creative, it's always delicious. There are some places that try to get too fancy and the flavor is lost. Not here. Always divine. Especially those Spicy Broiled NZ Green Mussels -- I could eat them every day.

Wide selection of creative and succulent dishes. Fantastic selection of fish, super fresh and really high quality. One of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to worldwide! The seared salmon belly is amazing!
