Now that Sioux City restaurant week is over, I find myself thinking back to the amazing food experiences I had in Washington DC. On that list is most certainly Le Diplomate. I came across this restaurant on social media and I was so glad I did. The French bistro is a chance to step into a different culture and gives you an opportunity to truly appreciate the ambience of the space, the friendliness of the staff, and the freshness of all of the dishes. I mean, look at this fresh baked bread that comes to every table. We had to go with their famous French onion soup and split the curry chicken salad sandwich on fresh baked cranberry and walnut bread. Whether you are taking in this restaurant in the dining room or in one of their adorable individual outdoor spaces, you need to make a reservation and enjoy. I can’t wait to go back and try a different dish.
Absolutely one of the best restaurant in the downtown core. The server was just as outstanding as the food. I would 100 percent recommend the Beef Bourgoin. We had no reservations but the wait was not that bad at 15 minutes.
Great atmosphere. This place gets crowded fast because it's so popular. I've had the truffle spaghetti and came back for the burger. Loved both. The burger is awesome. We had heated outdoor seating. Win win!

Food was great and it was only made better by the atmosphere. Going into it we thought it would be fancier and we’re glad it wasn’t! Our server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options (which there are plenty) and everything we had was delicious. I will say that some of the wine/cocktails seem to be priced pretty high, but honestly everything else was great so who cares.
I enjoyed myself sooooo much. It was so delicious. My sister got the rabbit stew and loved it. And my friend got the beef stew. I got the muscles with French ham and my word it was soooooo good. You get sooo much! I ate every single one that I took home for leftovers! My salad and goat cheese was delicious as well. So so good. I want to try all the mussels.
Our server was very kind and helpful. We ordered the seafood ravioli and a side of the garlic mushroom. Food was amazing and worth the price. Only thing we had an issue with was the seating since the tables are extremely close together and had someone back their chair into me. Overall, it was a great experience.

Glowing reviews lead us to Central where the bar area was full of boisterous patrons rooting for their baseball team - but just a few feet away was the elegant dining area, the portent of a culinary adventure where DC American cuisine meets French preparations… The fried chicken is every bit as delicious as many reviews state - a sous vide process where the chicken melts in your mouth and crust delicately crisps never feeling, well, fried…! Each dish pictured was perfect and the dessert, a Napoleon that was more like a most perfect Millefeuille, was dream in any language. French Chef, Serbian floor manager, engaging wait staff - the entire team made for us a memorable evening and promised return…!
We went here for Thanksgiving dinner and it was AMAZING. From the Appetizer, main dish to the dessert everything was delicious. Service was top notch especially because it was fairly busy. I 100% recommend and will be returning for future special nights.
Great lunch spot! Lots of options and quick prep, with attentive and kind service. Kids and adults alike were happy with this meal. Book choy curry was yum! Profiteroles did not disappoint and were quite shareable.
