From start to finish, our experience at Phil's BBQ was nothing short of amazing. The service was top-notch, with a staff that was not only friendly but extremely helpful. They went above and beyond, ensuring that we felt welcomed and cared for throughout our meal. The portions were generous—so much so that we had to get a to-go order for leftovers because we simply didn’t want the incredible food to end! And let’s not forget the drink prices—they’re unbeatable, adding even more value to an already outstanding experience. The atmosphere, while lively and bustling, somehow managed to be electric rather than chaotic, creating a fun and energetic vibe. It’s the perfect place to enjoy great food with a positive and upbeat environment. As Canadians, we’re thrilled to have discovered Phil’s BBQ, and we’ll definitely be bringing our family back on our next trip to San Diego. The cherry on top was the warm, personal well-wishes from the staff as we left. It’s those little touches that make a huge difference, and Phil's does them all. First timer here, I must say this place is busy and for good reason. The food is so good. The menu has more items than I could ever try. I ordered the El Toro, half with BBQ sauce and the other half without, I had to try it both ways. The french fries were crispy, fresh and LARGE! The BBQ sauce.. What can I say, I wish I could buy a bottle of this stuff. The staff are happy and helpful. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I will definitely return when I am in town again.

We got one of the sandwiches, the small rack, and onion rings. All were really good! Super busy, but a nice, homey atmosphere and a lot of workers there to help out. The food was really good, and super filling! I liked that there was an entire roll of paper towels on the table and a hand washing station, and a little arm hook on the bathroom doors so you don’t have to touch the handle! Fun little hygiene things I’ve never seen anywhere else.
