“Butler Pitch & Putt is a pitch and putt course with 9 par-3 holes and putting greens, plus bar food and a beer garden. The golf course began as a dream by local residents Douglas and Winston Kinser in 1948. They wanted to design and build a green space for the citizens of Austin. The two men built and opened the course one hole at a time. The official opening took place two years later on June 1, 1950. The pair ran the golf course together until Douglas's untimely death in 1951. They hosted an evening golf event with approximately 35 guests.
