Bullock Texas State History Museum aims to create experiences that educate, engage, and encourage a deeper understanding of Texas. The museum receives more than 9 million visitors from around the world. The museum has hundreds of artifacts, history, and innovative technologies unveiled in exhibits, films, symposia, community activities, and friendly, family-centered programs for all ages. Bullock Texas State History Museum shows more than 16,000 years of Texas history, starting with one of the earliest recorded human-made artifacts in the Americas. With 34,000 square feet of exhibit space, it honestly does tell The Story of Texas. The museum is designed as a non-collecting museum; each of the three floors is theme-based to accommodate over 700 artifacts, most of which rotate in and out from other museums. Guided tours are available for adult groups. The museum also offers a weekly field trip to the Bullock Museum for thousands of school children and teachers. Bullock Texas State History Museum offers year-round calendar programs and free entry for children age three and under.

Austin Zoo aims to assist animals in need through rehabilitation, rescue, and education. The Zoo has around 300 animals, which represent more than 100 different species. Austin Zoo is accredited by the Zoological Association of America. Unlike conventional zoos, each of its animal inhabitants has a unique story to share, reflecting its unwavering dedication to their welfare and rehabilitation. Visitors can enjoy the Picnic Grove surrounding the concession trailer and are welcome to bring in their food and drink. The Zoo provides one-week day camps during the summer tailored for children ages 5 to 12. This is a friendly zoo located at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, where visitors from all over the world can come to experience the animals up close, spend time outdoors getting exercise, and have fun. Zilker Botanical Garden is located on 28 acres nestled within Zilker Metropolitan Park in the heart of downtown Austin. The garden's themes include the Taniguchi Japanese Garden, Hartman Prehistoric Garden, and Rose Garden, which are all interconnected with pathways for all ages and abilities. The garden is a unique partnership between the Parks & Recreation Department of Austin City (PARD) and the Garden Council of the Austin Area (AAGC). The garden is open to the people most days of the year and is enjoyed annually by more than 300,000 people. The garden has more than 125,000 visitors a year, enjoying the garden most days of the year, including thousands of school kids from Austin and the surrounding areas. The green room and auditorium at the garden center can be used for dinners, groups, and meetings. Zilker Botanical Garden offers free entry for children (ages 2 & under).
