“2026 Update: Bullock Texas State History Museum is a go-to destination for exploring new things. The Museum is named after the 38th Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Bob Bullock, who championed the exhibition and preservation of Texas history. Bullock Texas State History Museum explores over 16,000 years of Texas history, which includes objects created by humans in the Americas and a projectile point discovered 40 miles (64 km) north of Austin. The museum hosts programs and events such as film screenings, shows, and social gatherings, drop-in preschool programs, lectures and discussions, and seasonal family activities each spring break and summer in a year-round calendar. Bullock Texas State History Museum preserved the hull from the French explorer La Salle's ship La Belle, with 1000 artifacts recovered from the 1686 shipwreck.”
