Green Hammer

I've had the pleasure of working with Green Hammer over the last five years, both as a client and a contractor. The Green Hammer team working on my house was extremely professional and efficient, completing the project on time and budget and with 100% Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood products. In my experience working with Green Hammer, they seem to truly "walk the talk" when it comes to environmental and social responsibility. They treat their employees, clients and sub-contractors with the utmost respect, provide a flexible working environment and benefits, and have long played an important advocacy role in the Northwest green building industry. Staff serve on local boards, regularly present at conferences, volunteer time on local building projects and teach classes at Earth Advantage Institute. If I were planning a new custom residential or commercial construction project or remodel, I would definitely call Green Hammer.

We chose Green Hammer to build Ankeny Row, our net zero co-housing project in SE Portland. The project consists of five townhouses, a loft apartment and a common room, all built to Passive House standards. We have lived in our new homes for over a year and we are generating more electricity than we use! Green Hammer is one of a very small number of design build firms that have experience in Passive House construction. They brought their significant expertise in green building to the project. They also used only FSC certified lumber. The fine craftsmanship in woodworking provided by Urban Timberworks (part of Green Hammer) was a plus that I didn't anticipate. These are not only beautiful, but extremely comfortable buildings. We feel extremely fortunate to have chosen Green Hammer for our homes. We found the staff of Green Hammer to be professional at all times and very nice people.

It is always a pleasure working with the Green Hammer team; they are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Green Hammer's passion for environmentally friendly building and their focus on conservation is truly admirable. We look forward to seeing them continue to positively impact the Pacific Northwest.
