I wish we did this sooner. We’d considered Mathnasium years ago when my daughter started struggling in math but didn’t want her to feel like it was more school to extend her misery in math. I’ve always been able to help her at home with the concepts but Mathnasium’s approach seems to be more effective. Instead of only working on homework like she may with a tutor, she learns how to build up her core skills and is getting help with her current school curriculum at the same time. They make it fun, have rewards, and she is proud of herself when she gets better grades and A+s at the center. Despite having a math learning disability and being anxious over math, she actually loves going to the local Mathnasium center and asks to go every afternoon. She says they have different approaches that help her better understand. If one way doesn’t work in her head, they try another till she gets it. They don’t get frustrated and are patient with her questions. Overall, I’m pleased with not only the quality experience she has there but on the parent side, the staff is easy to talk to and seems to truly enjoy working with my daughter and care for her success.

I’m a homeschooling parent and have educated 8 kids over the span of 24 years. My husband is an engineer with a math degree, and I excel in English, so between the two of us, teaching children is something we’ve always felt comfortable doing. When our youngest seemed to struggle with high school math no matter what we tried, we were at a loss for how to help him. Mathnasium came into the picture and not only helped him understand the concepts but built up his confidence in math. There’s nothing more confirming than hearing your once-struggling teenager say, “This is really helping Mom. So happy we found Mathnasium right here in Huntsville! My two daughters (age 8 & 9) love going here and the staff/tutors somehow make learning math fun! They encourage personal goal-setting, and have developed a clever reward system to keep the students striving. Honestly, mine wish they could attend more than twice per week. No more home-work struggles and I feel such a burden lifted off my shoulders knowing that I'm supporting them.

Definitely a place you want your child to learn math and reading. The Kumon program is great and well prepared. Ms. Anita, the owner, is a wonderful person, highly skilled to work with kids. My daughter started this program when she was 4. Now she is 5 and a half and is already at the 3-4 grade level. And she hasn't even been to first grade yet! Of course, you have a job to do as a parent as well and it is not always and easy job. Sometimes it is also a struggle for your child but the satisfaction is guaranteed (not to mention about the educational part of the success). I also appreciate the fact that I always felt comfortable to leave my child at school and just go for shopping. Great owner, great teacher, safe and learning-rich environment for every child.

We have had our two children enrolled in the math and reading programs since age 5. The program keeps them challenged and allowing them to excel beyond their grade school curriculum. We have noted improved standardized test scores. Highly recommend.

Kumon has really helped our daughter to stay focused on her learning. All parents should enroll their children into this fantastic program.
