3 Best Upholstery in Austin, TX

TLDR: It was a thorough pleasure to work with the Spruce team, and we would absolutely come here again for future upholstery needs and recommend them highly. In late 2024/early 2025, we had 4 dining chairs reupholstered here. The chairs were in desperate shape with faded fabric, broken support straps, and sagging cushions. I’ve included some photos of the end results, which we we love. I found searching for upholstery shops in Austin to be pretty challenging. There aren’t a lot (perhaps a relic of how so much furniture these days isn’t worth reupholstering). Reviews were all over the place. The ones I reached out to, with the exception of Spruce, were very slow with their responses. To contrast, working with Spruce was very smooth. Getting a quote was easy and quick. We dropped the ball several times, but Katherine and Clint were very responsive when we returned to the project. Clint was so generous with his time, showing us lots of fabric options and incorporating our feedback. We would have never thought about using a patterned fabric for the picture frame back, and we’re SO delighted with the end result. And final cherry on top: when Clint saw I planned to cram these beautiful chairs in my tiny sedan to take them home, he generously offered to drop them off instead.

Clint was incredibly patient and helpful. We had a hard time picking the fabric we wanted to use to update our swivel chair and he lent me dozens of fabric samples. Once I found the fabric we wanted, I was able to schedule an appointment to have my chair redone. There was an issue with one of the staples coming loose in the fabric, which Clint quickly addressed by coming to our house and picking up our chair, bringing in the shop to be repaired and returning it. Can ask for better service! And as the photo shows were very happy with a great job they did - they cut and upholstered in a manner that highlighted the pattern of the fabric. Happy customers!

Had an excellent experience at Spruce Upholstery today. The owners were warm, welcoming and helpful. I was looking for remnants for a needlepoint pillow. There were plenty of options and a nice selection of fabrics to order. Their work looked fantastic!
