My dad has been a resident for a year and a half. I would highly recommend Sunrise to anyone who asked - the staff is amazing - kind and caring and they always go above and beyond! My brother and I are able to rest easy knowing our dad is well taken care of and he absolutely loves it there!

The staff have been amazing at welcoming my father to his new home. It's not an easy transition for him or his children, but they have been reassuring, professional and compassionate. The staff overall are terrific - responsive and friendly. I feel confident that my father is in good hands.

The facility and care at Sunrise at Sheepshead Bay are pricey but it's worth the extra cost. The facility itself is immaculate, the staff are kind and helpful and the administrators are understanding. When we were having some financial difficulties in keeping up with the payments, the Executive Director sent us an application for Extra Help for seniors from the State and it worked! The benefit amount is enough to keep Dad where he is and we do not have to disrupt his living situation which is ideal. I try to keep up with State entitlements and I had never heard of this one. We are SO thankful to Sunrise and the State of New York!

We transferred my mother to Veranda memory care after a horrific experience at her former assisted living facility memory care, Waterford by the Bay in Brooklyn. While at Veranda she has put on some weight after losing about 80 lbs. The former director at Veranda, Laura West, was compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, and easy to reach. She and Luz, from marketing, did an outstanding job transitioning my mom. My mother is happy and well adjusted. When we visit she is alert and chatty. There are many activities for the residents, which my mom participates in. She is very much improved since moving to Veranda. The front desk staff is very pleasant as is the staff on the memory care floor. The entire staff is very professional. The memory care floor is beautiful and very clean. The rest of the facility is undergoing an update. The lobby area is very nice. Plenty of parking in the parking.lot. My family is indebted to Laura for her kindness and for her going above and beyond to make us feel that my mom is safe. We wish her well and look forward to having a great relationship with the new director.

The staff are patient, caring, and very helpful. They guided us through every step with the admission process for my mom. They help us with her financial situation to allow her to be able to be admitted. The facility is clean and updated. If you’re looking for an assisted living facility and that has a memory care unit, you should look into this place. I recommend The Veranda. They put a lot of care into my mom to ensure she gets the care she needs on day one.

The Veranda Assisting Living welcomed my mother with open arms. They made the family feel as if they have been part of the Veranda family.
