I have visited the Slugger factory several times and always enjoy a return visit. This is a great American family success story, now in its fifth generation of family management. Great history and manufacturing process in renovated and interesting downtown Louisville, KY. I will return.

I've wanted to check out the Kentucky Derby Museum forever, and I was so glad to finally get a chance to do that last week for their new logo launch party with The Voice-Tribune. The event was called Jingle & Mingle and it was awesome! My experience at the museum wasn't exactly typical, as they had vendors set up selling merchandise and giving out samples of amazing local faire like Burgoo (The Silver Spoon), wine (Old 502), cocktails (Copper & Kings), and beer cheese (Bourbon Barrel Foods).

I have visited zoos all over the country and grew up going to the Cincy Zoo, so it takes a lot to impress me! The Louisville Zoo is very, very good. They just keep getting better. I LOVED having a chance to see Kindi, the infant gorilla, and her surrogate mom yesterday!!! I could spend hours visiting with both the gorillas and the orangs in their very nice up-close-and-personal habitats!!
