Staying in NOLA and walked down to find breakfast. Our hotel served a breakfast buffet, but I wanted fresh hot and not sitting on the counter for hours. So glad I popped in here! I thought it was just a bakery from the outside and I wanted “real” breakfast food but looked at the menu and they offer a good variety of breakfast, like omelettes eggs grits, etc. fresh squeezed juice is an excellent plus, delicious. Goat cheese in the market omelette was perfect. Reasonably priced, a little more than regular restaurants back home, but this is tourist town of course. The server was so nice and helpful, gave me several options for juices and coffee servings. Definitely a 5 star review from me.

Had adorable experience visiting Bittersweet Confections during my vacation trip to NOLA. I read great reviews and happen to walk down on Christmas Eve to get a cake for my wife’s birthday. The experience and satisfaction exceeded my expectations and couldn’t thank enough for the wonderful gesture from the time I greeted and taking care of my need in offering candle and matches. Couldn’t be more merrier during the Christmas season. The store was so well organized and esthetic.

Y'all. This is THE place. Out of all the spots we tried while in New Orleans, this was by far the best and our favorite! I loved their grits and what they had to offer dessert-wise. I tell any of my friends who are visiting NOLA that they will always find a tourist restaurant around any corner, but they'll only need to find this place once to know they struck gold. My only regret was not coming back a second time before we flew out!.

Yall, hadn't had this cake in years. Started hearing some bad reviews, was kinda hesitant on ordering again. When I tell you this white/almond cake with strawberry filling was SOOOOOOO good! Cake was fresh and flavorful. Had a huge birthday party the cake was served almost as a party favor in to go containers, the smell was so intoxicating, my guests started eating it before they left, there were plenty of other dessert choices to choose from. Run, do not walk to give this place repeat business, I know I will! Bravo Swiss, Bravo!.

What a delicious place. You can watch them decorate beautiful cakes through a big window. Everyone is so friendly. We got some samples and did we hit the jackpot! Everything was SO fresh and SO flavorful I couldn't pick a fave. I"ll have to have all my cakes from here so that over the years I can - MAYBE - have a favorite. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!.

Thank you Swiss for a beautiful and delicious cake for our 35th wedding anniversary! The cake received many compliments on looks and on taste! I highly recommend Swiss to anyone wanting a beautiful and delicious cake, and the staff was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating.

NORMA'S SWEETS BAKERY REVIEWS

I knew this place was going to be legit when no one spoke English. Crème filled pastries were *chef kiss*. They were out of empanadas so I tried the pollo pastel and it was so delicious. Carne asada tacos were a bit dry, but the hand made tortillas made it worth while. Horchata had a guava tang to it. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, and it was the star of the show. So delicious. So crispy. So full. I want to try a plate lunch next time.

I walk about two miles from my house to visit this wonderful spot. Norma’s Sweet Bakery is a great old-school bakery, where the ladies in the back actually make the pastry. I love their pastry and the people in the store are super. They also prepare hot meals and have a well stocked grocery department. Lots of inside seating and a really neat place to stop.

The hot food counter and pastries are the best. Baleadas for breakfast, Nicaraguan tamales, guava and cheese pastries... The ladies serving food in the back are super friendly. Every neighborhood needs a Norma's.
