3 Best Dog Training in Washington, DC

We have had a great experience with Scott at DC Dog Wizard! Our new rescue was having anxiety issues, fear based aggression and was not doing well calmly meeting other dogs. We ended up doing the training with both of our dogs so our older dog could brush up on skills as well. They both took to the training quickly and each week Scott was able to build on the skills we learnt the week before. The great thing about Scott's training is if you need a little brush up on training or just a little more structure after your training is done thats provided for you. We felt and still feel supported. With our second dog who already did well with commands we were still able to teach him new things and Scott gave us some additional fun tricks so he got a lot out of the training too. With Scott's help we were even able to teach Bentley to jump and balance on fire hydrants! What fun!

Autumn was a joy to work with! She was an amazing teacher for us and our 6-10 month old lab puppy. Autumn is clear, kind, and consistent, and helped us get into a good training mindset. The lessons were easy to follow, focusing on walking on a leash/heeling, staying on his spot, recall, settling and self soothing, and even fun tricks. Autumn also taught us how to use an e-collar for training. We all loved our sessions with her and are excited to continue to use our training tools with our pup going forward - highly recommend!

Dedicated and thorough. The assigned trainers are always available by text or phone, and that co rubies after the end of the formal training sessions. They helped build great bones for me to build on with my dog.

First let me say Liana is definitely heaven sent!!!! I was at wits end with my dog and did not see any hope until I meet Liana!!! With her excellent skills and giving me reassurance, I now have the confidence to use the skills learned during our training sessions to train my dog!!! I will forever be grateful for her!! I now receive compliments while I am out in the community with my dog and she made this possible!! I highly recommend her services!!!

I was truly worried my anxious pup wouldn't be able to be helped. He used to go potty inside just to avoid the outdoors because he was so fearful! We have been taking it very slow and steady, and under Liana's guidance, my little guy is now wagging his tail and excited to head outside! It's honestly a crazy shift that I didn't think would be possible, but building his confidence has made a huge difference for us :) Am so so SO happy I have gotten to work with Liana :) (Including a dog pic since he's so handsome)

I've done group classes and private training with Liana. I could go on and on about how skilled and effective she is as a trainer/teacher. But what I appreciate the most is her optimism and encouragement. Training a puppy is not for the faint of heart. Many times I was at the end of my rope, and Liana always left me feeling reenergized and confident that my dog and I could succeed at basic training.
