Sylvan has been excellent for my Son. Due to the Pandemic, he spent first grade doing virtual school, which did not give him the support necessary to learn basics before moving to the next grade. The teachers are wonderful and encourage him to be his best. Every quarter we review his progress, what skills he has mastered, and how his attitude has changed about learning new and more challenging material. Sylvan has a fantastic program, and I highly recommend it to anyone whose children are struggling. The kids also earn points they can spend on fun prizes to incentivize them to continue completing lessons.

We've been working with Sylvan for a full school year now and it's been a wonderful supplement for our son's education. The staff and teachers are incredibly caring and well equipped. Val and her staff are exceptional--and the Mathnasium approach to developing mastery is awesome! My 11 year old skipped 4th grade math because he needed the challenge, but has been struggling in odd-ball places ever since due to some of the foundational concepts he missed. He likes math but resents extra school work, so I wasn't sure what to expect but our experience has been awesome! The curriculum is well-rounded and thorough without being overwhelming, and really cements those foundational concepts that can make forward momentum difficult. That said, the real gem is the staff. Val and her staff worked together seamlessly to ensure my son's time was spent targeted to fill his specific gaps, while holding him accountable for what he did not. This created a degree of ownership and buy-in from him that we've been missing for a long time. Equally important have been the staff who do an amazing job creating comradery with and between the kids. Our son quickly developed positive, supportive relationships with the other kids and established a tight bond with a couple of staff in particular. Its these relationships--together with being able to see and concretely understand and track mastery moving forward--is what keeps him motivated to come back and keep working. I'm very impressed with Mathnasium. My son has been attending for a month and I'm already seeing results. Val, the Director at my location is absolutely amazing, all staff are there for the right reasons. My son is loving math now and I couldn't be happier.
