Old North Foundation was founded as a secular, independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 1991. The church is the oldest surviving church building in Boston and the most visited historic site in 1775. It has over 150,000 visitors to their site to witness this inspiring and unique homage to independence, a chapel for Italian immigrants built-in 1918, which now serves as the Old North Gift Shop. Cathedral of the Holy Cross is the Archdiocese of Boston's mother church, Cardinal Seán Patrick O'Malley's seat, and a parish to Boston's historic and lively South End. Dedicated to thousands of Bostonians in 1875, the Cathedral endures as a spiritual home and civic center. The Cathedral, New England's largest church, seats nearly 2,000 people. It serves a wide and diverse community, offering regular Masses and Sacraments in English and Spanish. The Gothic Revival style combines puddingstone from Roxbury and calcareous brown. It provides metered parking for all visitors Monday through Saturday and free parking in general on Sundays.
